LINIS participants at ICBDA 2015
The International Conference on Big Data and its Applications (ICBDA) took place on September 18, 2015, in Moscow; the conference, as the name suggests, is devoted to the rapidly growing field of big data analysis.
The conference brought together business representatives, developers of new technologies in the field of big data, as well as researchers and young scientists.
Presentations and discussions concentrated on several areas:
-Effective use of Big Data for business
-Current trends and prospects of big data
-Scientific seminar on Big Data
Among the speakers were Alexander Emeshev (Tinkoff Bank), Sergey Chernov (Yandex Data Factory), Alexander Mihalowski (gnivts FTS of Russia), Roman Postnikov (MegaFon), Anatoly Levenchuk (TechInvestLab), Andrey raigorodsky (Yandex), Nikolai Anokhin (MailRu Group), and many others.
LINIS researchers Olessia Koltsova and Sergei Koltcov presented their report on "Topic Modeling Stability and Granulated LDA" at the scientific seminar of the conference.
According to Sergey Koltsov,ICBDA can help bridge the gap between researchers in the field of socio-economic sciences and experts in the field of computer science whose cooperation may be promising and productive in both scientific and practical terms.
This trip helped find new contacts, potential partners and like-minded people, exchange experience and new ideas.
