Research seminar at LINIS
On September 23, 2015, LINIS hosted a research seminar on topic modeling.
Students from the Department of Sociology of HSE, researchers from LCSR, LINIS and our colleagues from Moscow (HSE, Dorondnitsyn Computational Center of the RAS, MSU) participated in the seminar, discussing the merits and drawbacks of two kinds of topic models.
LINIS researcher Sergei Koltcov gave a talk on the basic notions of topic modeling, Gibbs sampling for LDA and, generally, for inference in probabilistic models.
Konstantin Vorontsov presented topic modeling based on additive regularization of topic models (ARTM).
The research seminar was organized as part of the project «Development of concept and methodology for multi-level monitoring of the state of interethnic relations with the data from social media».
