The 6 th International Summer School "THEORY AND METHODS OF LONGITUDINAL SOCIAL NETWORK ANALYSIS"

The Summer School on methods of research in the field of network analysis has been  held in the International Laboratory Network Analysis (HSE, Moscow) for 6 years. This summer the intern-researcher of LINIS Yadviga Sinyavskaya participated in  the work of  the summer school held from1 to 5 August 2016 in Moscow.

The main topics of the 6th Summer School was Longitudinal Social Network Analysis included selection and influence models, two-mode networks, model comparison of SAOMs and ERGMs, and multi-group and meta-analysis.

Per Block and Christoph Stadtfeld, were invited as lecturers both are the professors of ETH Zürich.
According to Yadviga, the School was very rich and informative. The classes were held every day from 10 till 18.30 and time passed very quickly as the lecturers were constantly kept the audience in good shape, offering some practical tasks and had a terrific sense of humor, which created a light and friendly atmosphere.

Despite of tight schedule the lecturers tried to cover a very broad range of topics beginning from the basics of programming in R to complex specific aspects of network analysis.

Thus, the school was a great place where researchers could meet with the experts in the field of network analysis, discuss their own research, receive valuable advice and acquire the necessary skills!
