NetGlow’2016

The results of the studies carried out by LINIS were presented at the international conference Networks in the Global World-2016 in Saint-Petersburg (Russia).

NetGlow’2016

The largest international conference on network analysis organized by the Centre for German and European Studies (St. Petersburg State University) in cooperation with the University of Bielefeld (Germany) was held in the Smolnyi Institute from 1 to 3 July 2016.

The participants had an opportunity in a form of workshop to learn more about the methods of text and network analysis in R, a longitudinal analysis of network data, techniques of visualization of semantic structures under the guidance of recognized experts in the field of network analysis. In addition, the conference participants listened to the lecture of stars in the field of network analysis Ronald Breiger and Michael Batty.

Our Laboratory also shared the results of their research: Yuri Rykov’s report  "Network and participation inequalities within online communities: the comparison of social movement, professional and fan groups on Vk.com SNS" was devoted to the consideration of inequality in online communities in a social network Vkontakte.

Yadwiga Sinyavskaya presented the results of the collective project "Online social networks and the success of startupers" devoted to new entrepreneurs’ network attributes in SNS Vkontakte and  success in their work.
