LINIS at DTGS
LINIS staff took a part in the Second International Conference “Digital transformation & Global society” (DTGS’17), which was held in Saint-Petersburg on June 21-23.
The mission of the conference is to serve as a common platform for scholars and practitioners to discuss the transformative impact of digital technology on the way we work and live, with special emphasis on socio-technical aspects of cyberspace. DTGS’17 is focused on the ICT-enabled and ICT-transformed behavior in different spheres of human life.
DTGS’17 is co-organized by the by ITMO University and Higher School of Economics (HSE), St. Petersburg.
Yuri Rykov and Oleg Nagornyy provided the information on the results of their comparative cross-regional study of digital inequality («Digital Inequality in Russia through the Use of Social Network Site: A Cross-Regional Comparison», Yuri Rykov, Oleg Nagornyy and Olessia Koltsova).
Olessia Koltsova told about the study of ethnic relationship by means of text data from social media (Detecting interethnic relations with the data from social media

The presentation of Svetlana Bodrunova was devoted to the analysis on Twitter data (Content Sharing in Conflictual Ad-Hoc Twitter Discussions: National Patterns or Universal Trends, Svetlana Bodrunova, Anna Litvinenko, Ivan Blekanov and Anna Smoliarova).
