International Conference ‘New Media: changing media landscape’ in St.Petersburg

Several famous media researchers have came in Higher School of Economics, St. Petersburg: Sandra Gonzalez-Beylo, Oxford Internet Institute, Vlad Strukov, University of Leeds and Dr. Mark Smith, head of Connected Action, the company known as developer of NodeXL. Their presentations can be heard at the international conference ‘New Media: changing media landscape’, September 27-28, 2012, organized by the Laboratory of Internet Studies HSE St.Petersburg, Department of Media Communications Higher School of Economics in Moscow and the Royal School of Technology in Stockholm.

Their presentations can be heard at the international conference ‘New Media: changing media landscape’, September 27-28, 2012, organized by the Laboratory of Internet Studies HSE St.Petersburg, Department of Media Communications Higher School of Economics in Moscow and the Royal School of Technology in Stockholm.

The conference was organized to bring together scientists and experts of new and convergent media, and cover some topics related to the interaction of the ‘new’ and ‘old’ media. The participants were able to talk and to highlight topics such as: technological media trends, media strategy of the organization of new information age, new methodology for the study of media content and audience, new media as an extension of the public sphere.

The public lecture of Dr. Mark Smith was organized separately with video communication for the research team of Galina Gradoselskaya in HSE Moscow. Dr. Smith told what researches can do with NodeXL.
