What can an internship at the University of Amsterdam teach students?
On November 2014, Yuri Rykov, a junior researcher of LINIS, has attended a short-term internship at the University of Amsterdam supervised by of Dr. Wouter de Nooy at Amsterdam School of Communication Research.
A theme of the internship was methods for analysis of longitudinal network data including study of special software PAJ2PPD that used to convert network data into a format of model history of events (event history model).
Initially, the model history of events (event-history models, survival models, and duration models) and software were developed for the analysis of literature reviews in dynamics and reviews of new books in magazines and newspapers.
Nevertheless, the data model and the software are universal and can be used to study the dynamics of any network processes such as behavior and user interaction on the Internet and social media.
