AINL FRUCT-2016

Staff of LINIS presented their papers at the International conference Artificial Intelligence and Natural Language-2016 (AINL) held 10-12 November in Saint-Petersburg (Russia).

The FRUCT Association has initiated this conference: since 2012 it has bring together experts in the field of intelligent technologies such as natural language processing, speech technologies, dialogue systems, information retrieval, artificial intelligence and robotics.

Sergei Nikolenko carried out the workshop «Deep learning tutorial II», devoted to niceties of machine learning, as well as it were presented the results of studies conducted in collaboration with colleagues:

·          one of the reports was devoted to the age-prediction of users of social networks "Odnoclassniki" based on users’ texts (posts)

·          the second presentation concerned the improvement of the quality of neural network models for working with synonyms by Russian language text processing

It were presented also the results of the project launched at the Summer School "Digital Traces I: Meta-Morphologies of St. Petersburg" and devoted to representation of urban space in a social network site Instagram  («Yuri Rykov, Oleg Nagornyy, Olessia Koltsova, Herbert Natta, Alexander Kremenets, Lev Manovich, Damiano Cerrone and Damon Crockett, Semantic and Geospatial Mapping of Instagram Images in Saint-Petersburg»).

Sergei Pashakhin touched upon the Ukrainian political conflict and proposed the topic modeling as the method of analysis and comparing the position of the Russian and Ukrainian media (Sergei Pashakhin «Topic Modeling for Frame Analysis of News Media»).
